Episode 4 - Meet the Parents

I was at my cousin’s house when i watched this episode so i was only half paying attention, so i don’t have much to say bout it, i only saw Justin Bobby’s horrible combat boots that he wore on the beach and when Audrina started crying ’cause he ditched her. I found this recap on google though.

Episode Recap: “Meet the Parents”
I could be wrong, but I don’t think Heidi’s parents are as in love with Spencer as Heidi is. Spencer seemed to be on his very best behavior until Heidi’s mom mentioned Lauren’s name, and then his nice-guy facade crumbled. Did you see Heidi’s parents’ reaction when Spencer started calling Lauren names? I mean, he was pretty harsh. I don’t think Lauren’s a “spoiled, selfish little girl who doesn’t want to share Heidi with anyone.” I think Lauren made a real effort to get along with Spencer last year. And I think she was rightfully done with him when he continued to treat Heidi like crap in the beginning of their relationship. Yeah, Heidi and Spencer are engaged now, but it doesn’t mean Spencer’s not a jerk. I think he’s doing right by Heidi right now, but there’s something (well, many things) about that guy that I just don’t like. And you can’t trust him, either.

You want to talk untrustworthy? Let’s talk about Justin Bobby for a sec. What is his deal? Who leaves their girlfriend — OK, maybe they’re not that serious but they did come to the party together — behind? And who flirts with other girls in plain view of their on-again/off-again flame? I just feel like this guy has no common sense. First he was totally rude to Lauren, so there was no hope Audrina’s friend would come to his rescue when he screwed up. Then he only paid attention to Audrina at the BBQ until someone new came along? He’s a jerk, too. That is no way to treat someone, especially someone you say you care about, someone you’ve been in a relationship with.

Speaking of which, Lauren and Brody seem awfully buddy-buddy. I think it’s more that they’re being cute together than they’re getting back together. Lauren sure is serious about tackle football, though. Was she the one who took Brody down, sending him to the hospital with a broken finger? I, too, laughed when he came back with his whole arm in a sling. What? It’s funny. I mean, I hope he’s OK, but it’s comical. Stop being so self-conscious about it, Brody! It’ll get you attention and sympathy from the ladies. You can’t complain too much about that.

Some great lines:
— “Now all she has is you.” I loved it when Heidi’s mom made this observation. Spencer kind of is all she has. Heidi’s alienated her other close friends.
— “I’m ready to marry her today.” I loved the looks of concern (or perhaps panic) Heidi’s parents shared. If they’re hoping to talk their little girl out of marrying Spencer, I don’t think it’s gonna happen. Also, I think it Spencer’s bravado talking here. He and Heidi can’t even make decisions together. He’s so not ready to get married. And neither is she.
— “I get it. I lost a best friend last year, too.” Lauren understands only too well what Brody’s going through right now. Brody’s upset that Spencer’s spending so much time with Heidi, but at least they still hang out. That’s way more than what’s going on between Heidi and Lauren.

Oh, and I had no idea Jason hated Heidi so much. But like a good and loyal friend, Lauren stuck by Heidi despite what her significant other thought and said about her. Heidi could learn a thing or two from her ex-BFF.

At the end of the episode both Lauren and Audrina start crying. Lauren was crying over “losing her best friend.” And Audrina broke down, when she realizes Justin left without her..
