MTV The Hills Recap What Goes Around

mtv the hills
It was Brody??? And we’re back to the sex tape. I think Spencer is the one who started the rumor. Given everything we know about him and how he operates I just don’t think it’s a stretch to think he’d be capable of something like this. We know how much he dislikes Lauren. Is it really that hard to believe he’s the culprit? Of course, I have no firsthand knowledge of anything so I can’t say with complete certainty that he did it. But come on. Does anyone really think it wasn’t him? Except Heidi? Was it just me or did she seem just the tiniest bit unsure in the last few seconds of the episode? I just don’t understand that relationship. It’s good that Audrina and Lauren seem to have their friendship back on track. I’m not sure I would have apologized to Audrina for being so overprotective of her. Yes, Lauren went through a lot last year. And yes, she’s trying to be a good friend by warning her friends away from guys who don’t seem to appreciate them. I think she did a good thing in trying to salvage her friendship with Audrina, but I personally couldn’t have apologized for giving her a hard time about Justin Bobby. He just doesn’t come across as a great guy. Has Audrina conveniently forgotten that Justin Bobby has abandoned her not once but twice once in Vegas and once at Brody’s? I don’t care what his excuse was. It’s not cool. I think it’s reasonable to expect your boyfriend to leave with you if you guys go someplace together.

What’s with Jen Bunny playing both sides? I know she’s not really, but she does seem to be stuck in the middle. She finally made up with Lauren and she’s also trying to keep her friendship with Heidi going. It’s got to be hard when she’s getting different information from all sides and trying to make sense of it all. I’m sure she doesn’t want to believe Heidi (and to a lesser degree Spencer) are responsible for the rumor. Heidi stayed friends with her when she had her falling-out with Lauren, so I’m sure she feels some loyalty towards Heidi. But did she forget that Heidi was the one who encouraged her to go after Brody, thereby causing this big rift in the first place? It’s interesting how all these people become so conveniently forgetful.

One person who isn’t going to let Heidi forget so easily is her boss, Brent Bolthouse. Good. She needs to take responsibility for her screwup. Even if Elodie bailed on her, she should have talked to her boss just to keep him in the loop. I’m glad she got some flak about it. She needs to realize how much work she has to put in to prove she actually earned that promotion. Actually, I’m not sure she can prove that, but it would be nice to see her actually busting her a** to prove herself. Whatev.

Well, all of last night’s drama was well worth the extra week’s wait for me at least.

In case you missed last night’s new episode of The Hills, you can watch it here

Now that we are half way through season 3 of The Hills

lauren conrad the hills season 3

… what are you guys thoughts on what’s going down this season on The Hills? I have to admit that I missed last night’s episode. I’ll watch it later tonight. Any thoughts, musings so far?

These are mine:

1. Do you really think Jason if going to get married?
2. Or will he break off his engagement and go after Lauren again?
3. Will Audrina find true love before the end of this season?
4. Do Heidi and Spencer have what it takes to make it last forever?
5. Will Heidi go under the knife again?
6. Will there be a The Hills Season 4???

Let me know what you guys think and thanks so much for all of your comments. I love you all!

MTV The Hills Episode Recap For Better or Worse

mtv the hills lauren and jason

Wow, so Jason is engaged? Really!

As I suspected, Lauren had no idea Jason was dating someone, much less engaged. I don’t love the way Jason sprung that information on her that he was in a relationship or that he’s going to be moving in with Katja. I kind of like Jason’s style, but he can be a douche. Not as much a douche as Spencer, but he has his moments. He doesn’t treat Lauren with the dignity and respect she deserves. I’d think that about any girl he dated in the past, but it’s especially true with Lauren. They were in a serious relationship and they even lived together. Now they’re trying to be friends. Well, I should say Lauren is trying to be a friend to Jason but he’s crapping all over her. And why would he have a housewarming party with alcohol? He’s fresh out of his program and he’s having a party with booze? And he’s in a relationship, which Lauren says is against the rules of his program? He’s heading for a relapse, and fast.

The other relationship drama this week is with Heidi and Spencer, and I must admit I didn’t see it coming. They have such an us against the world attitude usually, but I think that only really surfaces when they’re being attacked. If they don’t have to present a united front to others, I think they turn on each other. But Jen definitely helped push Heidi into questioning some of Spencer’s motives. I really enjoyed seeing Jen play the devil’s advocate, planting the seed of doubt in Heidi’s head about her relationship. I think Heidi and Spencer are going way too fast and it’s quite possible they won’t be together in five years. I don’t even think they will be together next year. When all of the drama with her and LC  is said and done, she and Spencer will be done too… jmo. I loved Jen bringing up these things and Heidi saying she was in the wrong frame of mind, but clearly some of those concerns stuck with Heidi. I mean, what’s she supposed to think when Spencer doesn’t want to register? But beyond that, what’s she supposed to think about Spencer’s parents being absent from the wedding because he hasn’t told them he’s engaged? Run. Run for The Hills, Heidi.

And I think we were all expecting Whitney to get into some sort of trouble with her boss eventually; Lisa does not play around. I’m not quite sure why Whitney feels it’s OK to go out drinking with Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. It’s not her job to be their friend, it’s her job to make sure the photo shoot goes smoothly, and drinking large quantities of alcohol the night before usually doesn’t bring about good results. She’s young and I think she really learned her lesson here. And she got off easy; things could have really gone badly. If Lisa’s only real criticism for Whitney was about hanging out with the band, I think she’s doing a good job. I’m sure she won’t do it again.

So these are the qustions that are going through my mind:

1. What do you think about the way Jason told Lauren he had a girlfriend? Or that they were moving in together? Or that he was engaged (although he technically didn’t tell her)?

2. Why do you think Spencer has yet to tell his parents about his engagement to Heidi?

3. Do you think Jen was right to ask Heidi if she’s making a mistake as she’s standing there in her gown?

4. Do you think Whitney made a mistake when she went drinking with the band? Do you think Lisa had the right to be upset?

I’m very interested in hearing what you guys think about last night’s episode.

MTV The Hills Episode 7 They Meet Again

mtv the hills lauren and jason

The Hills Season 3 Episode 7 Recap - They Meet Again:

Is every single relationship on this show dysfunctional? The only people who seem to have a somewhat normal relationship are Whitney and Lauren. Audrina and Lauren are getting along (and usually do lately) because Lauren knows to keep her opinions to herself when it comes to Justin Bobby. We didn’t see Lo tonight, but I have a sneaking suspicion she really wouldn’t like what was going on with Lauren and Jason. I guess Spencer and Heidi’s relationship is going OK, but it pains me to think they are the least dysfunctional of all the couples. How about this: they’re good to each other but horrible to everyone else. Yep, I like that. You know who I think would be great in a relationship? Whitney. She’s cute and seems really great. Why aren’t the guys knocking down her door?

Work. Sigh. Let’s talk about work for a moment before we look at all these messy personal lives. Linda Love, West Coast editor of Teen Vogue, makes her first appearance of the season. The magazine is putting on the Young Hollywood party, featuring Marc by Marc, and Whitney’s in charge of scouting locations. They check out the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel (where Pretty Woman Julia Roberts gets her man). The space looks cool, but Linda is expecting to get 1,500 names so they need to find something bigger. Over at Bolthouse, Heidi is settling into her new position. Now you may remember Elodie congratulating Heidi on getting the job last week, but this week things sure are different. Elodie escalates those nasty looks she’s been giving Heidi to full-on word warfare — and I say it’s about time. I think we all agree that Heidi stabbed Elodie in the back so Elodie’s perfectly justified in what she says to Heidi. Heidi did have every right to go after that promotion but she should have been upfront with Elodie. That’s how you do business in today’s world and keep your friends.

After hours. What bad luck when Spencer and Heidi and Jason and Lauren both end up at Ketchup. Lauren and Jason go there just to relax and hang out while Spencer suggests the new hot spot to Heidi to celebrate her promotion. I think Lauren had the right idea to rise above it and ignore them. But Spencer’s greeting — when he’s never even met Jason — is not cool. Granted, I’m not a huge Jason fan, but I’m even less of a Spencer fan. Then:

Spencer: “Maybe she picked him up out of rehab.”
Heidi: “… out of jail.”
Heidi: “Maybe they’re back in the moviemaking action.”

These 2 are a bit much. Whatev. If Spencer hates Lauren as much as he claims to, I can believe something like this coming out of his mouth. But Heidi’s barbs just prove she will follow wherever Spencer leads. And let me just say that although Lauren says Jason seems like a different person, he’s probably not. Yes, he’s sober but Lauren catches him checking out another girl right in front of her. Hello?

Heidi and Spencer end up going to Don Antonio’s to celebrate her promotion. She’s upset that Elodie is taking Heidi’s promotion so badly and tired because she’s having trouble sleeping. I have no sympathy for her whatsoever.

Some other good lines:

Lauren: “Homeboy would poison my drink. Are you serious?”

Elodie: “You don’t even know what’s wrong and what’s right anymore. It’s so sad.”

Things to ponder:
• Heidi seemed to think she was being nice by sending Jason and Lauren drinks and is insulted when those drinks are refused. Does she have any right to feel that way?
• Was Lauren hanging back when Jason dropped her off at her apartment? Do you think she was waiting to get some action?
• Lauren offered to have “sober nights” with Jason when they’d go bowling or to a comedy club. Do you think she’s just setting herself up for another heartbreak? I know we all know Jason’s engaged in real life, but I don’t think he’s told her on the show yet.

Let me know what you guys think and thanks so much for all the comments so far.
